Crystal Grids

Have you ever heard of a crystal grid before? A crystal grid is an arrangement of crystals on a grid following a geometry pattern and when crystals are placed in a certain arrangement the energies become even more powerful as the pattern enhances the energy flow. Crystal grids can be used to manifest something you need, set intentions, healing and also be used to during a meditation. The crystal grids themselves can have lots of different geometry patterns on them but one of the most popular patterns is called the “Flower of Life”. The flower of life represents the cycle of creation – it shows how all life came from one source, which is the circle in the middle of the grid.

Setting Up Your Crystal Grid:

So first of all: what is the purpose of your grid? You can set your grid up to fulfil any intention, so think clearly on what you want to achieve. The combination of crystals and sacred geometry greatly strengthens your intention and allows you to manifest much more quickly – so ensure you have your intention set in your mind when you are creating your grid.

The first thing you need is a focus stone that links directly to your intention. Let’s say we are setting up a grid to attract love into your life – you would choose your centre stone thats aligned with that purpose. Let’s use Rose Quartz as our centre stone as its aligned with the heart chakra and opens us up to loving energies. You would place this down in the centre of the grid! Then you can choose another 6 to 12 crystals aligned with the same purpose – this could be amethyst for stress and anxiety, or red aventurine which is for love as well. They can all be of the same crystal or different – do what ever feels right for you! You are also going to need Quartz points as well – quartz is a master healer and amplifier and will direct the energy to flow in the direction it faces.

Place your other chosen crystals around your centre stone, leaving a gap between each one. Think about the geometry pattern you’ve gone with when you place the crystals – are there specific points in the pattern? Once you’ve done this, you can place your quartz points around the outside of the centre stone – these act as stepping stones and help connect each crystal to one another. Remember that the point directs the energy so if you place the points towards the Rose Quartz, it will send the energy into it. If you place the points facing away from the Rose Quartz, the energy will flow out from it. The idea is that the energy flows through each crystal, amplifying your intentions and goals.

Activating Your Crystal Grid:

So now you have your grid set up, you’ll want to cleanse and charge the crystals and the grid. You can use another quartz point to do this or you can just use your hand – its all about the intention! Move your hand or point and go counter clockwise above the grid, and ask that “All and any previous energy is removed from the crystals and grid”. Once you feel you have cleansed it, you now need to charge your grid. This time, go clockwise above the grid with your hand or point and ask that the healing properties of the crystals influence the space for your highest good. You can now set your final intention – for our purpose we can say “I am loved and I radiate a loving energy to myself and people around me”.

You can leave your grid intact for as long as you feel you need to. You can change it whenever you want – just make sure you follow the same steps. Also think about where you want to keep it – perhaps under your bed or on your altar? Have fun with your crystal grid and do what feels right for you!

Crystal Shapes & Their Meanings

Crystals all have different properties and they come in all different shapes & sizes. How a crystal is shaped can add to that crystal’s meaning too, and whilst they don’t change the energy the crystal emits or the actual properties of that crystals, they do change the way you may receive that energy. 

Here’s what some of the most common (and some uncommon) crystals mean, different shapes you can buy them in and why, so the next time you’re choosing a crystal, you know it’s going to pair well with your intention and enhance the energy!

Crystal Meanings

This a very small sample from 1000s of crystals but don’t worry, there are many books with descriptions of many more crystals like – The Crystal Bibles by Judy Hall, The Book of Crystals by Emily Anderson and The Modern Guide to Crystal Healing by Philip Permutt. 

Rose Quartz: Known as the “stone of unconditional love,” it promotes self-love, compassion, and emotional healing. It fosters harmony in relationships and soothes emotional wounds.

Amethyst: A spiritual stone that enhances intuition, calmness, and mental clarity. It is also associated with protection and reducing stress.

Citrine: Referred to as the “stone of abundance,” it boosts creativity, positivity, and financial prosperity. It dispels negative energy and promotes motivation.

Clear Quartz: Known as the “master healer,” it amplifies energy, thoughts, and intentions. It enhances clarity, focus, and spiritual awareness.

Hematite: A grounding stone that stabilises emotions and enhances courage, focus, and balance. It is also linked to protection and strengthening one’s willpower.

Amazonite: This calming stone promotes emotional balance, communication, and self-expression. It is said to soothe anxiety and aid in manifesting dreams.

Blue Lace Agate: A gentle, soothing stone that encourages calm communication and alleviates stress. It is also used for emotional healing and enhancing confidence.

Tiger’s Eye: Known for its grounding and protective properties, it fosters courage, determination, and focus. It balances emotional energy and attracts prosperity.

Carnelian: A stone of vitality and motivation, it boosts creativity, courage, and confidence. It is associated with physical energy and passion.

Chiastolite: Also called the “Cross Stone,” it is a powerful protective crystal that aids in transitions and dispels negativity. It encourages balance and insight during change.

Black Tourmaline: A powerful stone for protection and grounding, it shields against negative energy and promotes emotional stability. It also aids in stress relief.

Unakite: A nurturing stone that combines emotional healing with grounding energy. It promotes self-growth, harmony, and connection with nature.

Malachite: Known as the “stone of transformation,” it promotes deep emotional healing and personal growth. It also protects against negative energies.

Opal: A stone of inspiration and emotional expression, it enhances creativity and intensifies emotions. It is also associated with spiritual growth and harmony.

Moonstone: A stone of intuition and new beginnings, it fosters emotional balance and enhances feminine energy. It is also linked to calming and soothing stress.

Obsidian: A strong protective stone that shields against negativity and clears emotional blockages. It fosters deep self-reflection and grounding.

Selenite: A powerful cleansing and purifying stone, it clears negative energy and promotes spiritual connection. It enhances mental clarity, intuition, and fosters a sense of peace and serenity.

Crystal Shapes 

Tumblestones
The most common way for a crystal to come in is in a tumblestone. These are just pieces of crystal that have gone through a tumble machine to create a small and smooth piece that is excellent to keep in your pocket or in a dish at home. They tend to be less expensive than other pieces, so they are great for beginners or those starting their crystal collection. Even for the crystal pros, tumblestones are a must have for keeping in your pocket so you can feel it’s energy whenever you need it.

Points, Towers, Pyramids & Obelisks
These pieces often go by different names but the main principle is that they have a flat base and a point at the tip. As the name suggests, these pieces help keep you sharp and on point. It helps you keep you focused, especially on a goal or intention, making it an excellent tool for manifestation work. Spheres
These crystal pieces are perfectly round and smooth – reminiscent of the world. This is why they are excellent tools at helping us feel connected to the Universal Energy all around us and reminding us that we are a part of something greater. As they are evenly round, it also helps emit energy equally to all sides helping us feel balanced. They are great for meditative work as they fit nicely in the palm of your hand. Wands
These crystal pieces can vary quite a bit but the principle is the same. They may be double terminated and have a point at each end, or they may have one pointed end and one smooth end, or they could be smooth both ends! You can release any negative energy out whilst bringing healing energy in. You can use them to intuitively scan the body to locate any blockages, or to move any energy between the chakras. The Relationship Corner

According to Feng Shui, each area of your home represents an area of your life. If the energy in this area of your home is balanced, then that area of your life will be balanced. However, if the area is cluttered or in disarray, then this can have detrimental affect on your life. You can manipulate this energy to enhance aspects of your life.

The relationship corner is found in the right hand corner of your bedroom, with your back against the bedroom door. First of all, you need to think about what you have in this corner and whether it represents love. For example, don’t keep your bin in this corner! Also throw away anything that is no longer serving you, as clutter holds onto negative energy.

Once you have done this, you can start incorporating objects that will enhance your love life and symbolise the relationships you desire.

You could put two chunks of Rose Quartz to represent yourself and your partner, or one if you are single. Rose Quartz is the crystal for love, and can help stimulate loving energies in your life. You could even place it in a heart dish for extra energy!

Crystals & How To Use Them!

We’ve noticed that crystals have risen in popularity massively over the last couple of months, and we’re having new customers come in daily looking to start their collection! Crystals are a great way to enhance your life, but a lot of people still don’t understand what they do and how to use them. It can be confusing, especially when there are literally hundreds of different crystals out there, all with different properties!

The main thing to remember when starting out your crystal collection is that it is completely up to you. There is no right or wrong way to incorporate crystals into your life; what works for one person may not work for you.

We’re going to tell you a little more about crystals and some of their uses below to get you started on your crystal journey. Remember to do what feels comfortable to you and listen to your intuition.

How do crystals work?
This is a question we get asked the most by people, and it is all to do with the Universal Energy. Everything, from the trees to the dishwasher, is built up with this energy – it’s just that everything vibrates at different frequencies. The vibrations in crystals can help influence and direct the energy within our bodies, and can affect our body, mind and soul depending on the type of crystal. For example, Amethyst omits a frequency that has a calming and peaceful effect. This idea has been around for thousands of years, with mentions of crystals and their properties in Ancient Egyptian and Indian texts.

What type of crystals are there?
There are hundreds of crystals out there, with some rarer than others. It can be overwhelming, but there have been a lot of books written about crystals and their properties. To start your collection, we would recommend looking at the more popular ones; Clear Quartz for healing, Amethyst for relaxation, Rose Quartz for love and Citrine for abundance. There’s loads more out there, all with specific properties. If there’s something you’re looking for, have a look on our website or ask us and we will find one to suit your needs!

The golden rule for crystals is that they pick you, which is why we think it’s best to choose your crystals in person. If a crystal keeps drawing your attention and you can’t take your mind off it, then chances are it’s the one you need. There’s a reason why out of hundreds of crystals, you’re being drawn to that single one! Your intuition is powerful and your soul knows what it needs, you just have to trust in it.

What do I need to do with my crystals?
Once you pick your crystals, you need to cleanse them. This means clearing any energy that has built up within the crystal, as this could affect its properties. You may have noticed there is a lot of conflicting information about how to cleanse crystals – but remember, there’s no right or wrong way! We recommend rinsing your crystals under warm water when you first get them (except crystals that are in a natural state, where you would use incense instead) as it’s the simplest method. Hold your crystals under running water and set your intention to cleanse them – visualise the negative energy washing away, leaving only the positive energy within. After this, you can cleanse them as often as you want; whatever feels right to you. Another way to cleanse your crystals is by using sage, palo santo or incense. Waft the smoke over the crystals and visualise the energy being removed. This method is best if you have raw pieces of crystals.

Once you cleanse them, hold the crystals in your hands and set your intention. What do I want this crystal to help me with? By doing this, you can help influence and direct the energy of the crystal to help you.

What can I do with my crystals?
You can either keep crystals on you, in your bag or car, or in your home. Certain crystals work better in different environments. If you have a crystal that focuses on a particular body part, you may want to get it as close as possible to said area. If you want to add crystals in your home, think about the Feng Shui bagua and where best to put them; Rose Quartz is great in your relationship corner! You can keep a piece of Citrine in your purse/wallet for wealth and prosperity, or an Amethyst in your pocket which you can hold in your hands in times of stress. You can mediate with crystals, or add crystals to your bath or under your pillow. Think about what you want the crystal to do and where you need it. You can always move crystals around depending on your needs.
