What is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to geometric patterns and shapes believed to hold spiritual and energetic significance. These shapes frequently appear in nature, architecture, and spiritual art, reflecting the intrinsic order and harmony of the cosmos. Sacred geometry teaches that the universe operates through recurring patterns, and by studying these patterns, we can better understand our connection to the universe.

The term “sacred” highlights the spiritual reverence for these forms, which are often linked to divine creation and the fundamental principles of nature. Whether in the spiral of a seashell, the hexagonal structure of a honeycomb, or the alignment of celestial bodies, sacred geometry shapes are universal and deeply meaningful.

Key Sacred Geometry Shapes and Their Meanings

1. The Flower of Life

The Flower of Life is one of the most recognisable symbols in sacred geometry. It consists of overlapping circles arranged in a hexagonal pattern and has been found in ancient carvings, temples, and manuscripts worldwide, including Egypt’s Osirion Temple and Chinese sacred sites.

The Flower of Life symbolises creation and the interconnectedness of all life. Within its structure are other sacred shapes, such as the Seed of Life, Vesica Piscis, and Metatron’s Cube. Many believe meditating on the Flower of Life can enhance spiritual awareness and alignment with the universe. I wear a Flower of Life pendant almost everyday to feel grounded & connected.

2. The Seed of Life

The Seed of Life is derived from the Flower of Life and consists of seven overlapping circles forming a flower-like design. It is often associated with the seven days of creation in various spiritual traditions. The Seed of Life symbolises growth, creation, and the cyclical nature of life.

As a foundational element in sacred geometry, the Seed of Life is often used as a starting point for understanding more complex shapes.

3. Metatron’s Cube

As a foundational element in sacred geometry, the Seed of Life is often used as a starting point for understanding more complex shapes.

Metatron’s Cube is an intricate design created by connecting the centers of 13 circles within the Flower of Life. Named after Archangel Metatron, it contains all five Platonic solids: the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron, which represent the elements of fire, earth, air, ether, and water.

Metatron’s Cube symbolises balance and protection. Many use it in meditation to align their energy and foster harmony in their lives.

4. The Vesica Piscis

The Vesica Piscis is formed by the intersection of two overlapping circles, creating an almond-shaped space in the center. It is one of the simplest yet most profound shapes in sacred geometry, symbolising duality, unity, and the creation of new life.

Often seen in religious and spiritual art, the Vesica Piscis represents the intersection of the spiritual and physical worlds, emphasising balance and the merging of opposites.

 

5. The Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Spiral

The Golden Ratio (approximately 1.618) is a mathematical constant that appears in nature, from the spirals of galaxies to the arrangement of leaves on a stem. Similarly, the Fibonacci spiral, derived from the Fibonacci sequence, closely aligns with the Golden Ratio and symbolises beauty, proportion, and harmony.

These patterns reflect the perfection of nature and the intelligent design of the universe. Their consistent appearance in art, architecture, and biology highlights their significance in both physical and metaphysical realms.

6. The Sri Yantra

The Sri Yantra is a sacred Hindu symbol consisting of nine interlocking triangles radiating from a central point, or bindu. It represents the union of masculine and feminine energies and the spiritual journey from material existence to divine consciousness.

Meditating on the Sri Yantra is believed to bring clarity, focus, and alignment with universal energies. Its intricate geometry serves as a map of both the cosmos and the human mind.

 

7. The Torus

The Torus is a doughnut-shaped form representing energy fields, such as those around the human body or the Earth’s magnetic field. It is a dynamic and self-sustaining shape that symbolises infinity and unity.

In sacred geometry, the Torus illustrates balance and flow, emphasising the cyclical nature of energy and the interconnectedness of all existence.

History of Tarot

Ah, the captivating history of Tarot! Its origins are veiled in mystery, but Tarot likely emerged in the 14th century as a card game in Italy, France, and Spain. It wasn’t until the late 18th century that Tarot began its journey into divination and esoteric practices. Occultists like Antoine Court de Gébelin and Etteilla started attributing deeper meanings to the cards, linking them to ancient wisdom and mystical systems.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, influential figures like Arthur Edward Waite and Pamela Colman Smith created the Rider-Waite Tarot deck, revolutionizing the art with rich symbolism still widely used today. Tarot’s popularity soared in the 20th century, further expanding its associations with spirituality, psychology, and self-discovery.

Today, Tarot remains a beloved tool for seekers of wisdom, offering profound insights and guidance on life’s journey. Its allure lies in the endless interpretations and personal connections individuals form with the cards, making it a timeless treasure of the metaphysical world.

About the Cards

The tarot deck consists of 78 cards, each with its own unique meaning and symbolism. The cards are divided into two groups: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards, while the Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards, divided into four suits: Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. Let’s talk about the differences between Major and Minor Arcana. Picture this: Major Arcana cards are the big players, carrying potent energies and representing major life events and spiritual revelations. They’re like the stars of the show, guiding us through significant turning points. On the other hand, Minor Arcana cards are the supporting cast, reflecting everyday situations and emotions. They’re like colorful puzzle pieces, forming a detailed picture of our daily lives. Together, they create a harmonious dance, offering profound insights and shaping the captivating tapestry of Tarot readings.

How Does a Reading Work?

A Tarot reading is like a cosmic conversation between the cards and the reader. The querent (person seeking guidance) asks a question or seeks insights, and the reader shuffles the deck, infusing it with their energy. Cards are then drawn and arranged in spreads, each position holding significance. The reader interprets the cards’ symbolism, connecting them to the querent’s situation. Intuition and the reader’s understanding of Tarot guide the process, unraveling the profound messages and offering valuable perspectives for the querent’s contemplation and growth. Pendulums

What is a pendulum?

A pendulum is a simple yet powerful tool used in divination, energy healing, and spiritual practices. It consists of a weighted object, often a crystal or metal, attached to a string or chain. When held or suspended, the pendulum swings back and forth or in circular motions, responding to subtle energy vibrations. It is believed to tap into the intuition and subconscious mind, providing answers, insights, and guidance. By asking specific questions, the pendulum’s movements can indicate yes or no responses, reveal hidden truths, and assist in decision-making processes. It serves as a bridge between the conscious and unconscious realms, aiding in spiritual exploration and self-discovery.

Here is our step-by-step guide on how to use a pendulum:

     

      • Choose a Pendulum: Select a pendulum that resonates with you. It can be made of crystal, metal, or any other material that you connect with energetically.

      • Cleanse and Energise: Before using your pendulum for the first time, cleanse it of any residual energies by placing it under running water or using other purification methods such as smudging or intention setting. Then, hold it in your hands and infuse it with your positive intentions and energy.

      • Set Up a Clear Space: Find a quiet and peaceful space where you can focus without distractions. It’s also helpful to clear the space energetically by burning incense, using essential oils, or any other method that resonates with you.

      • Establish a Clear Intent: State your intention for using the pendulum. It can be seeking guidance, receiving answers, or connecting with your intuition. Clarify that you want the pendulum to show you clear and accurate responses.

      • Hold the Pendulum: Hold the pendulum gently between your thumb and forefinger, allowing it to hang freely. Ensure that your hand is relaxed, and the pendulum has enough room to swing without obstruction.

      • Establish Yes/No Responses: Begin by asking the pendulum to show you its “yes” response. Observe the direction of its swing—clockwise, counterclockwise, back and forth, or side to side. Repeat the process to establish the “no” response. This will vary from person to person and pendulum to pendulum, so it’s crucial to establish your unique responses.

      • Ask Questions: With your intentions in mind, ask clear and specific questions. Allow the pendulum to swing or rotate, and observe its movements. Interpret the responses based on your predetermined “yes” and “no” signals. Practise different types of questions to gain confidence and accuracy.

      • Trust Your Intuition: Remember that the pendulum is a tool that amplifies your intuition. Trust your inner guidance and instincts when interpreting the pendulum’s responses. Practice regularly to enhance your connection and accuracy.

      • Cleanse and Store: After each use, cleanse your pendulum to remove any residual energies. You can use the same methods mentioned in point 2. Find a safe and respectful place to store your pendulum when not in use, ensuring it remains protected and charged.

    What else can you use a pendulum for? 

    Apart from divination and guidance, a pendulum can be used for various purposes. It can be utilised in energy healing practices, such as Reiki, to detect and balance energy imbalances within the body. They can also be used in dowsing to locate objects, water sources, or ley lines. They can assist in clearing spaces by detecting stagnant or negative energies. Pendulums can aid in chakra balancing and alignment, as well as in determining the energetic properties of crystals or objects. Additionally, they can be used as an alternative way of choosing an oracle or tarot card.  

    Remember, when using a pendulum, the accuracy response relies on your focus, intention, and connection with your intuition. With practice and trust, the pendulum can become a valuable tool for seeking guidance, clarity, and self-discovery in your spiritual journey.

    Runes & How to Use Them!

    Runes are an ancient form of oracle used by those seeking advice. Runes have a long history, dating back to ancient use by Germanic and Nordic tribes, and are still widely used in today’s society. The word ‘rune’ simply means mystery, whisper or secret and it’s a form of divination or oracle reading system that’s used to help gain insight into situations or questions. Runes can be made of various materials, but are most commonly made of stone, and feature a symbol from the runic alphabet on them.

    There are various different types of runic alphabets used on runes, with one of the oldest ones being the old Germanic runic alphabet known as ‘Elder Futhark’. The elder futhark contains 24 runes, the first six of which spell out the word ‘futhark’. Over time this was adapted and in order to use it to write in Anglo-Saxon or Old English, a number of other runes were added to the alphabet, bringing it up to 33. This is known as the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc. As well as each rune symbol being a letter of the alphabet, they also have symbolic meanings too. Although many of these date back to traditional meanings, which would have meant a lot to the people using the runic alphabet, the intention behind the symbols still has relevance today.

    The runes can be used to help guide you through problems or issues and help show you what is likely to happen. They’re not a form of fortune-telling and don’t offer exact answers or give you advice – rather they offer different variables and suggest how you could behave if the event does occur. Runes are known for hinting towards answers, but leaving you to work out the details, which is where intuition is helpful. Runic readers acknowledge that the future isn’t fixed and that individuals have the power to follow their own path and make their own decisions. If you don’t like the guidance that a rune reading provides, you’ve got the power to change your direction and path, and follow a different route.

    Find a quiet place to do your readings – somewhere you can clear your mind and focus on the reading. Think about an issue or question you have in mind and, if you so desire, you can say a prayer or call upon higher spirits to guide you through your reading. There are various rune castings you can do, but on your very first attempt, you might just like to start by picking one rune out of the bad and analysing its significance. Once you feel happy to progress, you can move onto the different rune layouts.

    The Three Rune Layout The three rune layout is a simple cast thats ideal for beginners. With this cast, you should randomly select three runes from the bag and place them in the table in front of you. Rune one should be on the right, rune two in the middle and rune three on the left hand side (so they should be in the order 3, 2, 1). Rune 1 represents the overview, or you situation or query. Rune 2 represents a challenge. Rune 3 represents a possible course of action that could be taken.

    The Five Rune Layout With the five rune layout, the aim is to select five runes, one at a time, and lay them down in specific places. The first rune should go in the middle, with the subsequent runes forming a cross shape around it. Rune 2 should go on the left of the centre (west), rune three on top (north), rune four at the bottom (south) and rune five to the right (east). You can either lay them face down and turn them over as you read them, or put them face up straightaway. The idea of this layout is that three runes in a horizontal position (rune 2, 1 and 5) represent your past, present and future. The rune below the central rune (4) shows what elements of the problem or issue need to be accepted, whilst the rune to the right of the centre (3) shows what help you could receive in relation to your problem or issue.

    The Nine Rune Layout In Norse mythology, nine is a magical number, so it’s appropriate to have a nine tune cast. This cast is best used if you’re trying to determine where you are in your spiritual path and what the next stages could be. Use your intuition to randomly select 9 runes out of your bag, then scatter them on your table. It’s generally regarded that the runes nearer the centre relate most to the current situation, whereas those lying on the edges are less important. If runes are close together, then they may be complement influences, whereas runes on the opposite sides represent opposing influences. This casting is very much down to your own interpretation.

    The Art of Divination

    ‘Divination is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic, standardised process or ritual.’

    Tea Readings

    Tea reading is the art of identifying symbols in the shapes and configurations of tea leaves and interpretating their messages. It’s believed to have been around for thousands of years, since tea was discovered by a Chinese Emperor in 2737 BC, but it has gained popularity in recent years. Like other forms of divination, tea reading is very personal – what you see in the patterns might be different from what another would perceive.  This, however, produces the most relevant reading!

    And all you need to do is make a cup of tea! Pick your chosen tea (use loose tea leaves) and pop a pinch in your cup. Pour over hot water and let the tea cool whilst you quieten your mind. Think about what you are looking for from your reading – is there a specific question? When you are focused, drink your tea and leave a spoonful of liquid at the bottom. Take the cup by the handle in your left hand, rim upwards, and move it in a circle rapidly three times from left to right. Next (still with your left hand) slowly turn the cup upside down over a saucer. Leave the cup upside down until all liquid drains away. Position the handle due south and you’re ready to go!

    Have a look at the leaves and see what symbols are present. If you get our ‘Fortune Tellers Cup’ it comes with a symbol chart and their meanings! The cup is divided into three parts. The rim represents the present, the side signifies events happening soon, and the bottom represents the future.

    Tarot Readings

    The tarot has been used for centuries as a form of divination and is an excellent tool for self-discovery and growth. The tarot picks up on the energy around you and taps into your consciousness to guide you, to access your intuition, and help you know what you really want in life.

     The tarot is a deck of 78 cards: 22 of them form the major arcana and represent a particular quality or archetype. The other 56 cards make up the minor arcana and are split into 4 suits – these cards represent events, people, behaviour, ideas and activities that go on in our lives. Each card has an image, a name and number, all of which are potent symbols and have specific meanings. Each card has a layer of meaning, and reveal parts of ourselves which we might consciously choose to deny, repress, or exile. This makes the tarot unique tool for understanding ourselves and the path we are on.

    There are many ways to use your tarot cards, and there are spreads that show you a detailed look at certain aspects in your life. You can find these in our ‘Tarot Bible’ Book or research online. The easiest way to use them is by picking a ‘daily card’. Simply shuffle the cards with their backs facing you, cutting them as many times as you want. You don’t need to ask a specific questions – just free your mind of all thoughts. When you feel ready, pick the card your drawn to. Before you look up the meaning, take some time to interpret the card yourself. What reaction do you have to the imagery? What does the number mean to you? What do you feel? Once you’ve done this, have a read of its meaning. Let both interpretations guide you throughout the day – there may be a sudden revelation during the day that allows you to see what the card means to you.

    Runes

    Runes are an ancient form of oracle used by those seeking advice. Runes have a long history, dating back to ancient use by Germanic and Nordic tribes. Runes can be made of various materials, such as wood, crystal or stone, and feature a symbol from a runic alphabet on them. Each symbol has a specific meaning, and each rune picks up on a specific energy. Runes have been around for a long time, and decreased in popularity due to the introduction of Christianity. This has resulted in a lack of evolution of the rune, and means that the energy they are attracted to can be quite alien to the modern mind. This means that when you’re reading the runes, you have to work out how the old concepts fit in with the modern way of life. This makes it extra fun though!

    There a different ways to use runes, but the find a quiet place and clear your mind. Focus on your reading and set your intention. What is your specific question? Get this clear in your mind. Once you’re ready, go into your rune bag and pick up one rune. This is the main answer to your question, but you may need to draw 1 or 2 more to get context. For example, you may ask the question ‘Should I go for this promotion at work?’. The first rune you pick is Uruz, which represents strength and power. You then pick the second one which is Ansuz which is for speech and knowledge. The last one you pick is Nauthiz which means need and action. Using all three runes, you can interpret this as you need to use your power of speech and knowledge to get the promotion at work!
